Audio Joiner/Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-07-25

Audio Joiner is a free tool for joining audio files into a single file. It is available as a website and as a Chrome browser extension. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use either of them. The short version: your audio is processed on your own device, audio files and extension queue data are not uploaded to or stored on servers operated by Audio Joiner, and we do not use analytics or advertising. Some technical request data may be processed by our hosting and security provider, as explained below.

How Audio Joiner works

When you add audio files, all decoding, previewing, editing, and merging happen locally using your device's own processing power — in your browser on the website, and on your device when you use the extension. Your audio files are not uploaded to or stored on servers operated by Audio Joiner, and the finished file is produced on your device. We do not receive or store the contents of your files.

Information we collect

We do not require an account and we do not ask for your name, email, or any other personal details to use Audio Joiner. We do not use your files, page content, source URLs, or local queue metadata for analytics, advertising, profiling, or tracking. If you contact support, we receive the email address and message you send so we can respond.

The Chrome extension

The Audio Joiner extension lets you collect audio you find on web pages — through the right‑click menu, a "find audio on this page" action, or its side panel — and send it to the Audio Joiner editor to be joined. It works as follows:

  • Local page inspection. On pages where you have granted access, the extension may inspect the page locally to identify audio elements and links and show an "Add audio" control. It does not send page content or browsing history to Audio Joiner.
  • Retrieving a chosen source. When you choose an audio source, your browser requests only that file from the source website, potentially using your existing session credentials. The source website may process that request under its own privacy policy. The selected file is then stored and processed locally on your device.
  • No upload to Audio Joiner servers. The extension does not upload your audio to servers operated by Audio Joiner. Files are handed off from the extension to the editor within your browser and processed on your device.
  • Local queue. The audio you add and its metadata, such as the file name, source audio URL, source page address, tab title, and basic file information, are stored locally in your browser on your device, so your queue survives until you clear it. Clearing the queue removes this data.
  • No analytics. The extension does not include tracking or usage analytics.

Local storage on your device

To remember your preferences (such as your chosen interface language), the website saves a small amount of data in your browser's local storage, and the extension stores your audio queue locally in your browser. During handoff from the extension to the editor, temporary transfer data may also be held in browser storage; it is deleted when the handoff completes and is eligible for cleanup after 24 hours if the handoff is interrupted. The editor may keep up to 20 non-audio merge diagnostic records locally. This information stays on your device, is never sent to us, and can be removed by clearing the relevant browser data.

Cookies and infrastructure services

The Audio Joiner website does not use cookies for accounts, advertising, or analytics, and it does not load fonts, scripts, or other resources from unrelated third-party services. The website and its bundled runtime assets are delivered through Audio Joiner domains, includingaudiojoiner.app and assets.audiojoiner.app, which are operated by the same owner. We use Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery, and security. Cloudflare may process technical request data such as your IP address, browser information, request time, referrer, and network or security error data to deliver and protect the website, and may use necessary security mechanisms such as cookies in some cases. We do not use this information for advertising or analytics.

When the extension retrieves a file from another website, that website receives the request and may handle it under its own privacy policy.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share your audio files, page content, or local queue data. Cloudflare may process technical request data as described above. Websites from which you choose audio receive those file requests and handle them under their own privacy policies. If you contact support, the email providers involved may process your message and email address.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, data‑protection laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over your personal data, including the rights to access, correct, or delete it. As we do not store uploaded audio, extension queue data, or personal data on servers operated by Audio Joiner, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or erase there. Files and queue data stored in your browser can be cleared on your device. If you contact support, we use your email address and message to respond, and you can contact us with questions about them at any time.

Security

Audio files and queue data stored locally are protected by your browser and device. Keep your browser profile and device secure. Audio Joiner does not have access to those local files.

Children's privacy

Audio Joiner is a general‑purpose tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how the website or extension handles data, we will highlight the change in the product or extension before it takes effect.
